Introduction
This privacy policy provides you with details of how The Sling Consultancy collects and processes your personal data.
The Sling Consultancy is a business based in Dorking, Surrey, England. I own and manage the website (theslingconsultancy.co.uk). I use third party services to operate my email, my website, payments, and marketing emails to keep in touch.
Most of those services collect some data about people who are interested in The Sling Consultancy or those who access my services. Here you can find out what those third-party services are, how I use them and how I store the information they collect.
Personal information means any information capable of identifying an individual. It does not include anonymized data.
Personal information I collect
When you contact The Sling Consultancy via my website, by email, Facebook, Instagram or in person, you might provide me with details such as your name, address and email address. This is only likely to be when you are interested in using my services.
Any other information you provide is to help inform the in-person support I provide you so I can best support you and your child.
When you sign up to my newsletter you provide your email address. If you book my services your email address is added to my subscribers list as stated in the declaration you sign when you book.
When you visit my website some information from your computer or mobile device, including, but not limited to, your browser type, operating system, IP address and the domain name from which you accessed the site may automatically be collected. This is covered in more detail at the end of this policy under “Cookies”.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I never have access to your financial information when you make payments via Paypal (invoiced payments) or bank transfer. All sensitive financial information is held securely by the processing companies, and they never share this, with me, or anyone else.
How and why I collect information
I treat your privacy and integrity seriously. I do not request more data from clients than I believe is necessary for my legitimate business interests. I collect and use information for the following reasons:

I use Wix to manage my mailing list. I add you to this list if you give clear consent, either by signing up to receive my newsletter, or by booking my services. You can sign up for my newsletter here. You can unsubscribe at any time.
When you book my services, either directly, via my Facebook page, Instagram or in person, I need sufficient information about you, your needs and your child to enable me to help support you in the best way.
If you get in touch via the contact form on my website this assumes you are giving me consent to use the information you provide so I can reply.

Who has access to your information
Aside from the trusted third parties mentioned below this is simple - just me! I am the only individual who ever has access to your information, and I never pass this on to anyone else.

If you pay me using PayPal, they will hold information about you. They take the security of your data very seriously, using secure servers and the maximum level of SSL encryption protection commercially available. You can read their Privacy Policy here.

How I use your information
If you instruct my services I will use the information you have provided to get in touch if I need to update you at all. I may need to clarify some details or suggest alternative options. I will contact you after our session with follow up information and for feedback.
I retain information on Paypal for tax purposes.
I send out occasional newsletters to those who have signed up to my mailing list. The sort of thing you can expect is:

Subscribers to my mailing list can opt out at any time. There is an opt-out message at the bottom of each of my newsletters, or you can contact me directly and ask to be removed.
If you have completed the contact form on my website, or got in touch via Facebook or Instagram messaging, you can expect to hear from me using the contact information you've provided.
How I store information
The data is kept via the method it was received, I keep emails, facebook messages, Instagram messages, text, paypal. These are stored online only.
You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, and I will give you full details free of charge. You also have the right to ask that your details be deleted, amended or transferred, unless I need them for legal reasons.
You may object to me processing some of your information based on my legitimate interests and to receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using your information or if I need it for legal reasons. In these instances I would clearly explain why I need to retain your information.
Finally, if you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information, you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

The website uses a number of cookies.
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that are put on your computer if you agree to use my website. Cookies are very helpful and can be used for various different purposes. These purposes include allowing you to navigate between pages efficiently, enable automatic activation of certain features, remembering your preferences and making the interaction between you and my website services quicker and easier. Cookies are also used to compile statistical data on your use of the website.

I also use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about your use of my site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users access the site, what pages they visit when they do so, etc. I use the information I get from Google Analytics only to improve my Site and services. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit sites, rather than your name or other identifying information. I do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.
